50 years of the Plovdiv Boys’ Choir “Stefka Blagoeva”

The Plovdiv Boys’ Choir is preparing for its 50th anniversary.
The famous boys’ choir, founded in 1975 by Stefka Blagoeva, is celebrating its anniversary with a concert-performance on May 2 at 7 p.m. at the Boris Hristov House of Culture in Plovdiv.
The concert is conceived as a combination of music, theatrical narration and visual elements that trace the path of generations of choristers who have turned the ensemble into one of the cultural emblems of Plovdiv.
The five choir formations will perform emblematic songs accompanied by pianists Yulia Petrova and Zarina Getoeva and under the baton of Milka Toledova and Borislava Blagoeva. At the end of the concert, they will be joined by conductor Krastin Nastev – also a graduate of the emblematic choir, and Vesela Dyakova – one of the first pianists of the ensemble.
Within the framework of the anniversary season, the Center for Support for Personal Development – Municipal Children’s Complex – Plovdiv is organizing an exhibition with previously unseen photographs, and in the fall, Krastin Nastev will present a book dedicated to the history of the choir.
The anniversary event is part of the Cultural Calendar for 2026 of the city of Plovdiv and is realized with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and the State Opera Plovdiv.
Admission is free.
The Plovdiv Boys’ Choir “Stefka Blagoeva” is a long-standing member of the Bulgarian Choral Union and the anniversary concert is among the events in 2026 that the union supports.
