From June 1 to 15, the concert ensemble of the Children’s Hand Choir will be on a concert tour in South Carolina, USA.
At the invitation of Varna International and its executive director Kalin Chonev, the choir will take part in the “Muzika!” festival, which brings together performers and audiences from different cultures in the spirit of musical art and international cooperation.
As part of the tour, the young choristers will give concerts in the capital of the state of South Carolina – Columbia, as well as in the cities of Greenville and Myrtle Beach, presenting Bulgarian children’s and youth choral art to the American audience.
A particularly exciting event in the program is the participation of the choir on June 11 in the large-scale performance of “Sacred Service” by Ernest Bloch. The work will be performed in Sephardic Hebrew under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter – a distinguished conductor known for his long-standing work at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
“For us, this tour is not only an opportunity for concert performances on an international stage, but also the honor of being ambassadors of Bulgarian culture, music and choral traditions,” the band’s management shared.
