Double international triumphant summer stage for the Stefka Blagoeva Boys’ Choir

The Plovdiv boys charmed the audience at the international choir festivals in Greece and Serbia, earning thunderous applause and invitations for international tours
The Plovdiv Boys’ Choir “Stefka Blagoeva” at the Central Children’s Choir Center – Municipal Children’s Complex – Plovdiv returned from another successful summer tour, adding two new unforgettable performances on the international stage to its creative biography. Under the leadership of their long-time leaders – conductor Milka Toledova and pianist Yulia Petrova, the talented boys worthily presented Bulgarian choral art in Greece and Serbia.
The first international appearance was the participation in the 3rd edition of the International Children’s Choir Festival “Čarobna nota” (“Magic Note”), held from August 20 to 24, 2026 in Niš, Serbia. The festival, founded by Prof. Miljana Radivojevic (director of the Čarobna nota Foundation and Choir School), aims to be a true celebration of children’s voices and togetherness. This year, the forum brought together ensembles from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Turkey and Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian choir took part in the colorful festive procession along the main street of Niš and gave two impressive concerts: in the historical complex “Mediana” – the summer villa of Emperor Constantine the Great and in the Concert Hall of the University of Niš.
With their diverse repertoire, attractive performances and charismatic presence, the boys earned long applause, made new friends and received a number of new invitations for prestigious guest performances abroad.
The second stop of the international performances was the 14th International Choir Festival “Music and the Sea” in Paralia (Katerini), Greece. The event (September 15-20), which annually attracts participants from all over Europe with its unique combination of creative meetings, music and new friendships, has a special place in the history of the ensemble. This year too, the Plovdiv boys captivated the audience of Paralia with a rich repertoire and bright artistry.
The Plovdiv Boys Choir “Stefka Blagoeva” is among the leading children’s and youth choirs in Bulgaria with a rich concert history and a number of international awards. Led by conductor Milka Toledova and accompanist Yulia Petrova, the choir continues to educate generations of young talents and to popularize Bulgarian and world choral classics in our country and abroad.
