For the fourth time, from June 26 to 28, 2026, Burgas will host the only festival for mixed and homogeneous choirs
“Let it be summer”.
Objectives of the event:
– Establishing a National Choir Festival with international participation for mixed and homogeneous
choirs;
– Uniting choral ensembles from Bulgaria and abroad;
– Creative exchange between professional conductors, performers and composers, arrangers,
leaders (professional choral conductors) of a workshop and master class;
– Preservation and development of choral traditions between generations;
– Raising the authority of the city in the country and abroad;
– Educating active listeners;
– The festival concerts will deliver unforgettable emotions to audiences of all ages.
Significance of the event for the popularization of Bulgarian choral art and local artists
and for the realization of cultural exchange with a sustainable effect:
– It confirms the format of the Choir Festival for mixed and homogeneous choirs;
– Joint work with prominent professional musicians in the studio and master class will lead
to the improvement of choral technique through new techniques and contemporary trends in
polyphonic choral singing;
– Enriches the repertoire with new songs /festival anthem and author’s songs/;
– Creative forum for young Bulgarian composers;
– Helps preserve and develop choral traditions between generations and educate
active listeners.
The event is organized by the National Community Center “Far – 1946” city of Burgas, with the support of the Bulgarian Choral Union and the Municipality of Burgas and is included in the Calendar of the Ministry of Culture.
The publication is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Bulgarian Choral Union.
