Friendship Concert in Balchik

Under the title “With a Song Friends”, a creative meeting and choir concert took place in the “Mill” concert hall in Balchik from May 29 to 31.
The musical forum was held with the participation of the “Chernomorski zwutsi” choir from Balchik, with conductor Valentina Georgieva, pianist Mariyana Tiholova and the “Zhelezni struni” choir at the “Razvitie 1869” National Choir in Razgrad, with conductor Krasen Ivanov, choirmaster Polina Kumanova and accompanist Daniela Nikiforova.
The two choirs are one of the first in the country, created more than a hundred years ago. They are cultural symbols of the cities of Balchik and Razgrad, and of Bulgaria. The creative ties between them are a tradition in which the two ensembles enrich their repertoire and maintain a high level of singing and artistic skills, with which they contribute to the national choral art!
The “Zhelezni struni” Choir and the “Chernomorski zwutsi” Choir are a symbol of high musicianship, stylish concert program and interpretation.
The “Chernomorski zwutsi” Choir Balchik is the winner of the Grand Prize “Cybela” for overall performance at the V Choir Festival in Razgrad in 2010.

The choral concert was held with the assistance of the Balchik Municipality, the Paisiy Hilendarski 1870 National Choir and the Musical World-Balchik Association. The Children’s Vocal Studio “Music & Joy” at the Paisiy Hilendarski 1870 National Choir – Balchik, directed by Dorotea Petkova, also took part in it.
