MIXED CHOIR “PROF. VENETA VICHEVA” WAS AWARDED THE SHUMEN CULTURE AWARD FOR 2025

At a ceremonial session of the Shumen Municipal Council on May 11, 2026 in the city of Shumen, the Shumen Culture Awards were presented. By decision No. 747 under protocol No. 31 of 30.04 and 01.05, the collective Shumen Culture Award for 2025 was awarded to the Mixed Choir “Prof. Veneta Vicheva”. The award is presented in the “Musical Author’s Performance” section for the author’s reading and adaptation for choir, brass band and soloists, sign language, overall vision of the performances of the first operetta presented in Bulgaria – “Carmosinella”. The author of the orchestrations for brass band is Hristo Atanasov, conductor of the awarded choir and of the “Mihail Bikov” City Brass Band in Shumen, and a lecturer at the “Ep. K. Preslavski” State Musical School. The scenographer was Magdalena Dimova, the direction and artistic adaptation of the text were entrusted to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yuliana Panova. In 2025, two performances were realized in Shumen and Popovo, financed by the National Fund “Culture” of the Municipal Council, Shumen Municipality, the “Stiliyan Chilingirov-1963” National Theatre and supporters.
