Trimontium Women’s Choir returns from prestigious international festival in Greece

Women’s Choir “Trimontium” took part in the 43rd International Choir Festival, which was held in the city of Preveza, Greece from July 8 to 13, 2025. The festival in the city of Preveza is one of the most authoritative in Europe. For 29 years, it has given a stage to elite choirs from different countries. In recent years, the scale of the participating choirs has significantly expanded, including ensembles from Asia and the USA. In this edition, 22 people from Greece, Taiwan, the USA, France, Turkey, Portugal, Poland, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands presented their art.

Women’s Choir “Trimontium” was the only representative of Bulgaria in the Festival. The ensemble performed with an a cappella program, including songs based on folklore. Works by Filip Kutev, Nikolay Stoykov, Rada Slavinska, ABBA, as well as a Greek folk song were performed.

This is not the first participation of the Plovdiv choristers in the international choral forum. The Trimontium Choir is a silver medal winner in 2018 from this prestigious competition and therefore this year it took part only in the festival program.

The conductor of the Trimontium Women’s Choir is Vanya Atanasova, the choirmaster is Maya Yordanova, the piano accompaniment is Diana Kaneva.

The trip of the Trimontium Women’s Choir is funded by the Plovdiv Municipality under Component 2 “Mobility” and is part of the city’s Calendar of Cultural Events for 2025.
