On February 25 at 3:00 PM, a presentation of a new collection of choral songs will take place at the Uniart Gallery in Sofia.
“Selected Choral Works” presents some of the most popular and beloved by conductors, choristers and lovers of choral art songs from the entire work of Georgi Petkov. All works have proven positive evaluation in stage practice by both the audience and music critics. In addition to being a source of concert repertoire for female folk choirs, chamber vocal ensembles and mixed choirs, their current edition can also be successfully used as a teaching aid in folk choir, chamber vocal ensembles, score reading and choral arrangement classes.
Most of the choral scores are published for the first time as musical material in their original arrangement for folk choir. Some of them have been performed at numerous concerts and recorded on sound carriers, as well as broadcast on various media from Bulgaria, Europe, the USA and Japan in the performance of the ensembles for which they were originally written.”
Prof. Georgi Petkov and his choir “Folk Jazz Formation” are members of the Bulgarian Choral Union.
