The Plovdiv Women’s Choir “Trimontcium” has returned after its successful participation in the ACQUA AZZURRA International Choir Festival, Lago di Garda, Verona – Italy.
The purpose of the event is to provide the choristers with performances in front of a wide audience – children and adults, to provide an opportunity for them to develop and popularize the art of music and dance. By supporting the cooperation between the leaders of the ensembles, the festival creates conditions for the exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as for future creative cooperation.
14 creative ensembles from three countries – Bulgaria, Poland and Italy – took part in the ACQUA AZZURRA International Choir Festival. Ladies’ Choir “Trimontsium” performed with a program entirely composed of works by Bulgarian composers. Songs based on folklore were performed by Filip Kutev, Atanas Iliev, Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin, Stefan Mutafchiev, Rada Slavinska and an Italian folk song – a greeting for the hosts. The performance of the Trimontium Women’s Choir was highly appreciated by the audience, and the choristers were rewarded with rapturous applause. For its excellent performance, the “Trimontium” choir received a certificate and a cup as a reward. The awards were presented by Mr. Luca Marangoni, representative of the organizers from the Italian side. All participants received t-shirts with the festival logo as a souvenir.
The festival concerts took place on an open stage in the town of Malcesino, which is located on the shores of Lake Garda, unique in its beauty. The extremely beautiful nature, the high mood, the variety of costumes, the richness of the repertoire and the grateful audience contributed to the success of the concerts. The closing gala concert took place in Garda.
The organizers of the festival are Tourist Agency “Amadeus 77” – Plovdiv and Dance Studio “Millenium” – Plovdiv, with the courtesy of the Municipality of Verona – Italy. Outside the concert program, visits to Verona and Sermioni were organized for all participants.
“Verona conquered us with its historical sights, unique architecture and Italian charm. We did not miss the opportunity to sing in the Arena di Verona, although as tourists, but the thrill was great. Sermioni captivated us with its unique nature. On the shores of Lake Garda, surrounded everywhere by water, dense greenery and ancient fortress walls, this town is a true pearl of northern Italy. We returned from the Festival happy and satisfied with a job well done and unforgettable experiences. On behalf of the entire choir, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the Municipality of Plovdiv for the financial support,” said choir conductor Vanya Atanasova.
