60 years of the “Trimontium” women’s choir – Plovdiv

A festive concert on the occasion of the sixtieth birthday of the “Trimontium” choir took place on May 31 in the Episcopal Basilica of Plovdiv. Representatives of the Plovdiv Municipality, the Culture Department, the Bulgarian Choral Union, teachers from the AMTII and NUMTI – Plovdiv, colleagues – conductors, choristers, citizens were present.
Special guests of the concert were the famous violinist Micho Dimitrov and the famous Plovdiv pianist Iren Kapelovska, who conquered the demanding audience with their wonderful performances.
The program of the “Trimontium” choir included songs in various musical genres – classical, folklore arrangements, church music, excerpts from jazz masses and pop music. Some of the songs were accompanied by percussion instruments. Works by Aldonis Kalnins, Rada Slavinska, Nikolay Stoykov, Ramiro Real, Bob Chilcott, Pavel Chesnokov and others were performed.
During the concert, the documentary film “Path Through the Years” by the famous Plovdiv journalist Vladislav Sevov was broadcast, which was dedicated to the development and history of the choir.
For its celebration, the Ladies’ Choir “Trimontium” received congratulatory addresses from the Municipality of Plovdiv, the Bulgarian Choral Union and many colleagues – conductors from Plovdiv and the country. On behalf of their choirs, conductors from Shumen, Targovishte, Stara Zagora, Balchik and Pomorie presented congratulations.
The congratulations of two choirs from Italy, with whom “Trimontium” has a creative collaboration – the Male Choir “Castelcampo” from the city of Comano Terme and the Male Choir “Fior di Montagna” from the city of Monza – caused particular excitement among the jubilarians.
At the end of the concert, all former conductors, choirmasters and choristers were invited to the stage for a meeting of generations.
