Leader and conductor of the Varna Children’s and Youth Opera, Conductor of the Varna Chamber Orchestra, Ganchev – Bend, Artistic Director of International May Choir Competition Prof. Georgi Dimitrov, Chief Expert Orchestras and Ensembles in the Directorate of Culture and Spiritual Development – Varna Municipality. He is a Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Choir Union.

Born on 13.07.1963 in the town of Dulovo – Rousse district, where he lives until the completion of his secondary education. Since 1985 he moved to Plovdiv. He graduated from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts – specialty Music Pedagogy. Later he graduated with a second major – Orchestra and Opera Conducting.

Since 1990 he lives and works in Varna, Bulgaria.

He is one of the people who restore the traditions of the children’s opera in the city. He is conductor at the Varna Children’s and Youth Opera since 1993 and Chief Art Director since 1998. In 2004, under the auspices of the Directorate of Culture and Spiritual Development – Varna Municipality, he created the Varna Chamber Orchestra of professional musicians from the State Opera – Varna, which he still leads. With the orchestra he actively participates in the cultural life of the city. He has performed over 130 concerts with symphonic, opera, salon and modern music with world-famous Bulgarian and foreign artists /singers and instrumentalists/. In 2012 he creates and directs the Mixed Vocal Formation “EU-phoria” at Varna University of Economics.

In 2015, on the idea of the conductor Nayden Todorov, together with his wife Miglena Shisheva, create a Children’s and Youth Opera in Rousse and organize a creative team of local professionals (the composition is a function of the State Opera – Rousse).

In 2017, from July to October is the temporary director of Rousse State Opera until the conclusion of the competition under the Ministry of Culture.

More than 1500 performances /concerts, performances, and various musical and musical-stage productions/ have been performed in his creative biography. He orchestrates and arranges theater and symphonic music, chamber pieces for various instrumental compositions and songs. He has 7 full orchestrations of musicals and has been conductor of more than 20 musicals.

He has collaborated with the State Opera – Varna, State Opera – Ruse, American University – Blagoevgrad and other institutions with many co-productions – musicals, operettas, concerts, educational performances.

In 2009 he initiated the musical presentations within the Varna Summer International Theater Festival. He has participated many times with concerts and performances at the Varna Summer International Music Festival, the National Festival of Opera Theaters in Stara Zagora, the International Festival “Mozart Feasts” in Pravetz and others.

Since 2002 – until now, he is also the Chief Expert Orchestras and Ensembles in the Directorate of Culture and Spiritual Development – Varna Municipality. He carries out cultural events included in the calendar of the directorate, takes care of the good interaction of the existing cultural institutions, musical groups and choral formations in the city with the municipal administration, participates in commissions for distribution of budget funds etc.

As Artistic Director of the International May Choir Competition Prof. Georgi Dimitrov he is responsible for the overall artistic and technical organization of his annual publications. He regulates the relations and is responsible for the membership of the Contest in the European Association, awarding the Grand Prix of Europe for choral singing.

He is a Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Choir Union.

He has concerts with various music ensembles in Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Greece, Russia, Ukraine, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Canada and others. There have been recorded recordings at the Bulgarian National Radio, Radio Varna and Radio CBS – Canada. He has been invited repeatedly to be a jury member of international and national competitions.

He is a winner of the “Shophar Award” for 2010 in the category “On ethnic tolerance” awarded by the Shalom Organization of Jews in Bulgaria.

He is the winner of the “Golden Lira” of the Union of Bulgarian Music and Dance Practitioners, awarded to him in 2013 on the occasion of 30 years of creative activity and 20 years since the establishment of Varna Children’s and Youth Opera.
