“The Children’s Choir of Bulgaria” is a project of the Bulgarian Choir Union, which is implemented with the financial support of the National Culture Fund. It is aimed at the widest possible audience. By provoking the desire to perform in difficult epidemiological conditions and providing opportunities for the realization of choral production in Bulgaria, a strategy for the promotion and development of choral art is also implemented.
Workshops have been held in 15 cities of the country, the aim of which was the present concert. Several ensembles and conductors participated locally.
Several workshops were also held in Sofia in preparation for the final concert.
More than 400 children will participate in the concert on July 3:
1. Choir “Bodra Song” – Shumen, conductor Denitsa Uzunova
2. Choir “Bodra Shmina” – Sofia conductor Alexander Kochkov
3. Children’s Kitka Choir – Plovdiv with conductor Yana Deliradeva and Chief Artistic Director Zlatina Deliradeva
4. The Children’s Philharmonic Choir of the Sofia Philharmonic – with conductor Slavil Dimitrov
5. Danube Waves Choir – Ruse, conductor Vesela Todorova
6. The Youth Choir Chapel at the National Music University “L. Pipkov” – Sofia, conductor Slavil Dimitrov
7. Vocal group “Sea Sands” – Burgas with conductor Milena Dobreva
8. Choir “Orpheus” – Haskovo with conductor Elena Shopova
9. Choir “St. George the Victorious” – Ruse with conductor Mina Vlaikova
10. Choir School – Svilengrad with conductor Kiril Turpov
All the choirs will sing together 10 songs, as well as the two anthems – of Cyril and Methodius and of the Republic of Bulgaria. However, each of the choirs will also perform a song on its own.
The orchestra that will host the event will be the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra “Sofia” at the National Music School “Lyubomir Pipkov” – Sofia.
Special guests of the concert will be Edelina Kaneva, Orlin Goranov, Mila Mihova and Mikhail Mikhailov. And the host of the concert – the program director of Jazz FM Svetoslav Nikolov.
