Elena Shopova is a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts – Plovdiv, from the class of choral conducting of Assoc. Krikor Chetianyan and the class of classical singing of prof. В. Alexandrova. Since 1989 he has been second conductor and since 1996 chief conductor of the children’s choir “Orpheus” – Haskovo. For her artistic activity she was awarded the “Golden Badge” of the BHS and the “Golden Lyre” of the SMTDB. Under her leadership the choir won awards at competitions in Preveza, Moscow, Plovdiv, Panagyurishte, Nessebar, Sofia, Vienna, Daugavpils and Beijing.
She is the founder and musical director of the only national festival of Christmas and New Year song – Haskovo, which also includes an annual competition for a new original song dedicated to Christmas, New Year or winter. One of the conductors – founders of the Children’s Choir of Bulgaria.
Since 2018 Elena Shopova is a member of the Board of the BChU, and since 2021 is its secretary.
