Academic Folk Choir® is the new choral formation of Prof. Kostadin Buradzhiev.
The formation was created in October 2023. It is a continuation of the vocal and interpretive vision, style and manner of work developed during his 20-year leadership of the student folk choir at the AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” – Plovdiv.
In its short existence, Academic Folk Choir® has already had impressive performances behind it – concerts in Plovdiv, two concerts in Paris (March 2 and 3, 2024) and a successful first recording session. The formation is composed of former students of the AMTII “Prof. Asen Diamandiev”, but with a much wider spectrum of repertoire, including not only folklore, but also orthodox works by Bulgarian and Russian authors.
