Children’s Choir “Milka Stoeva” is a representative formation of the choir school at the Youth Cultural Centre, Burgas. It was founded 74 years ago by the famous conductor, composer and teacher Boris Ibrishimov. Over the years and thanks to its long-time conductor Milka Stoeva, the Burgas ensemble has gained a place among the most outstanding children’s collectives in the country. It has been a carrier of the best choral traditions since the establishment of the first children’s formations in Bulgaria. Hundreds of Burgas children have passed through the ranks of this ensemble, forming in themselves a love for music and the arts. The Burgas Choir has made a huge contribution to the popularization of children’s song.
The young singers have recorded more than 400 songs, successfully realizing for more than 30 years, the first ever National Children’s Song Contest “Sweet Song Lark”, from where some of the most popular and beloved children’s songs of Bulgaria started. Milka Stoeva Children’s Choir has won many prestigious international awards and prizes from competitions and festivals. It has spread the fame of the good Bulgarian choir school in many countries-Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Spain, Sweden, Russia, Turkey, Greece.

Svetla Stoeva
Head of the Milka Stoeva Choir School and conductor of the Milka Stoeva Children’s Choir. She graduated from the Bulgarian State Conservatory, Sofia (today the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”), specialty – music pedagogy, graduate of prof. Samuil Vidas and prof. Stoyan Kralev. Awarded with honorary citizenship of Burgas and other honorary signs of the city for long-standing contribution in the field of culture and art.
Marietta Seklemova
Assistant conductor at the Milka Stoeva Choir School. Graduated from SMU “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, Sofia. She graduated from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Burgas with a degree in cello. She graduated with a degree in Music Pedagogy.
She was awarded with a diploma and a plaque for achieving excellence in the field of music and working with children.
Lily Bedrosyan
Assistant conductor at the Milka Stoeva Choir School. She graduated from SMU “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, Sofia. Burgas, specialty – classical singing, and Shumen University “Bishop Konstantin Preslavsky”, specialty – Music Pedagogy, graduate of prof. Prof. Veneta Vicheva. Since 2000 she has been an assistant conductor at the Milka Stoeva Choir School.
Pianist of the choir is Miglena Slavova.
