The Children’s Philharmonic Choir

The Children’s Philharmonic Choir is a new formation of the Sofia Philharmonic. It was founded in 2017. Its conductor and founder is Slavil Dimitrov and its choirmaster is Milena Yatsino.

Children and young people from 6 to 19 years of age participate in the choir. There is also a teenage formation. This defines the repertoire of the ensemble – classical, popular songs for children, as well as works aimed at the teenage audience.

The choir performs both independently and together with the Sofia Philharmonic. In its repertoire there are now not only dozens of children’s songs, but also titles such as Missa brevis in D by B. Britten, Carmina Burana by K. Orff, Symphony No. 8 by G. Mahler’s Mass for Peace, K. Jenkins, etc.
