“IN SACRIS” chamber choir – Sofia

Founded by Boryana Naydenova and currently conducted by Denitsa Kaburova, “In Sacris” has quickly grown to be one of the best choirs in its category. It usually performs a cappella works, but its repertoire also includes cantata-oratorio works. The number of singers in this choir varies from 5 (soloists only) to 30 depending on the nature of the concert and the music itself. This is not just a youth choir, but a cultural center where many young people communicate through the language of music and share the feelings of the music they make. The result is a unique atmosphere, accessible to both singers and listeners; an atmosphere that serves the choir’s mission to remember the ancient connections between Christian cultures and music in an exciting way. “In Sacris” has given concerts in Italy, South Korea, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Serbia and Georgia. Among its greatest achievements are the performance of “Matheus Passion” by J. S. Bach, Mozart’s “Requiem” and selected works of baroque music.

The performers of “In Sacris” are mainly young people from different educational and professional backgrounds. They are united by their love for ensemble singing and are inspired by the great examples of Christian chant, the eternal spiritual compositions of Monteverdi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and many other classical and contemporary composers. With its musical style and prayerful performance of spiritual music, this choir has won the love of the audience both in Bulgaria and abroad.
